Project Finished...Perspective Changed

This project is 2 years in the making!
I made this before Drake was even born- just a quick, easy, cheap wall decoration.
I bought a canvas at Michaels and hot glued ribbon to the back to hang it on. Then Rob & I painted our hands and stamped our hand-prints. Yep....it was THAT easy!
It's hung in Drake's nursery with just the green and blue hand-print since that time.
The plan was to stamp Drake's hand-print when he was born, but we never did.
Could we have procrastinated any longer? 2 years?! Wow, Linds! A new record!

When I was dusting Drake's room last night, I took it down and said, "Enough! Let's do this already!"
And we finally did Drake's hand-print and finished it!

What do you think?
Now...if you know me, what do you think I thought of the finished product?
If you are guessing that I was stressed out and disappointed with it, you are right!

His hand-print is too high and should be down lower and a tilted a bit to the left. Drake moved his fingers so it got all smeared too! Eek!
I really was a bit stressed out about it at first!

Then, I hung it up and realized that I really like its imperfection. I really, truly do.
It makes me think about Drake and his crazy personality and how he can't hold his hand still for 2 seconds. And it makes me think about my husband who is carefree and easy-going and just pushed Drake's hand down and didn't worry about how close to the top it was.
I really love it. And I really like how my perspective has changed since having a child!
I'm still an insane perfectionist, but it's calmed down a bit.

And that's a glimpse into my super freaky personality.....:)

He really reminds me so much of Treyson! What a fun little boy!

I LOVE it! I'll be posting a pic of some of the projects I've done in Nora's room soon. I'm the same, I get stressed if it's not perfect :)

I think it looks great we are always our biggest critics! It will be a keep sake for a very long time. Hang in there with your grandma we will keep you and your family in our prayers. As hard as it is to see her like that keep up the memory making you will cherish those long after she is physically gone.
