We had such a fun day at the Hogle Zoo last Friday! This was Drake's second time going and he enjoyed it a lot more than he did last year when he was only 6 months. :)
Highlights were:
*The baby elephant pushing a big tire around- darling.
*The mommy elephant taking a big #2 towards the crowd, complete with children screaming while watching- hilarious.
*A gorilla walking over and putting his face right against the glass where Drake's face was.
*Watching a camel urinate for well over a minute.
*Drake running under some yellow CAUTION tape into a construction zone and Katelyn running to grab him, then stopping at the yellow tape like it was electrified and yelling for him to come back to her. I yelled, "Katelyn, just go UNDER the tape!" She looked at me and said, "Oh....yeah!" It was so hilarious! But, I'm reading this back and realizing that maybe you just had to be there to understand the humor.
*Ice cream
*Plastic zoo animals for Drake as a souvenir (his favorite toy now!)
The tigers had nothing to offer us as they were zonked out, the bear exhibit was closed, and the animals overall just seemed a little sleepy- other than that, the zoo was really fun!!! Drake loves to tell people about it- the "el-funts", "rar-rars" and "graffes" were his favorite!
