Wednesday, May 9th- Lover's Beach!
We were so lucky on this cruise to get to spend TWO days in Cabo!
The ship wasn't allowed to dock in Cabo overnight so we basically did figure 8's all night and then re-docked in the same place the next morning. Pretty interesting!
This was the view from our room.
Since we'd spent the first day in Cabo on a crazy loud, vendor-filled beach, we decided we wanted to find a quiet beach for our second day. We took a water-taxi to LOVER'S BEACH which is the beach in the middle of this picture below (same picture as above just zoomed in).
And here's the view from the beach to our ship!
This was my very favorite beach!
Oh my goodness, it was so gorgeous. I felt like we were looking at something straight out of a movie or on a postcard. We couldn't have picked a more perfect day-
*It was hot, hot, hot, but that made us want to get in the water.
*It was quiet. This beach doesn't allow local vendors so we were able to relax all day without being bombarded by people wanted us to buy souvenirs.
*And there weren't many people on this beach so we had oodles of room to ourselves and it was so peaceful.
The waves here were pretty crazy at first. Our water-taxi guy (who was a real pain) had a hard time getting his boat far enough up on the beach so that we could get off easily (or he just didn't care to try). We were jumping out of the boat while waves were crashing all around us. It was a little nuts and I was clinging so tightly to my camera in fear that I would drop it! We made it though and it was worth the trouble.
We were first greeted by some local friends-
(Note Drake's face in the left picture- hahaha)
Then we got in the water of course!
Drake had the greatest time with Daddy! I was in heaven watching them.
(Just for my memory- Drake freaked out about having sand on top of him. He loved playing and digging, but when I suggested that we bury his legs, he was completely against that- kinda made me laugh. He's always been OCD about being dirty.)
After hours of running, swimming, and playing non-stop, it was time for a snack and a rest with Bompa.
While those two boys relaxed, the other three boys went looking for trouble...
And they found it!
This beach was on the backside of Lover's Beach (if you look at the picture at the top, you'll get the gist). The waves were MASSIVE! What's not pictured here is the sign that said this beach was "Restricted for Swimming".
It really was dangerous, but I have no control over any of these guys so I just took pictures of them in case these were their last moments...:)
Great shot of the guys on the way back over to our ship!
Once back on the ship, it was time for some looooong naps! The beach is exhausting!
Drake was kind enough to serenade us all to sleep. :) Remember this photo?
(still makes me laugh my head off)
Hunter just COULD NOT wait for dinner and highly took advantage of the free 24-hour room service. I had to get a picture of all that food! And he ended up doing an impressive job of finishing it off (with some help, of course). By the way- LOVED the free room service. Another reason for the lovely cruise weight gain! :)
Between naps and getting ready for dinner each night, Drake spent a lot of time cooped up in 2 tiny rooms (Rob, Hunter, Drake, and I's room connected with Mom, Dad, and Hannah's room). He was so good about it though! I'm constantly finding myself amazed by him and his go-with-the-flow personality. He actually spent most of his time out on the balcony of our room though. It was a sweet place for him to "chill". Here's the view of the water from our balcony-
And one more picture of the view from our balcony of this famous Cabo landscape (Lover's Beach in the middle)
A boat happened to be driving through as I took this picture and it made for one gorgeous shot!
We had a blast Wednesday night!
We had another fantabulous dinner of gourmet, different, delicious food,
we went dancing (darn the blurry-ness from my phone camera),
we relaxed in the lounge and listened to our favorite musician on the trip- Tommy Lee (Jack Johnson type music- he was amazing and we tried persuading him to try out for American Idol),
and we had a CRAZY, silly time in our room before bed!
Oh, how I love my sisters!
What a perfect last day in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico...
