Cruise 2012: Day at Sea/Formal Night

Monday, May 7th- Day at Sea/Formal Night

Our first day on the ship was a Day at Sea sailing to Cabo.

It was a tad cold! Warm enough to lay out in swim suits, but too cold for the pool. We settled for the overfilled-with-people-hot tub and just enjoyed relaxing on the deck. Katelyn got so incredibly sunburned this day because it was overcast, she fell asleep for a couple of hours on a chair, and she's a red-head. It was a bad sunburn! Rob & the guys played some games around the deck and Rob took Drake so I could take a nap and read my book. What a nice, relaxing day!

This night was Formal Night so we got dressed up in our church Sunday best (none of us felt like going overboard this cruise), took pictures, and enjoyed a really nice dinner.

One of the down-sides of this trip was that our dinner time was at 8:30pm! Yikes, that's late for a toddler. We tried to change it, but weren't able to. We made it work, but it made for one tired, hungry boy most nights. That's kind of an exaggeration though, because honestly Drake was so good on this trip and just went with the flow. 

When Drake is tired, he doesn't usually get grumpy. He gets crazy and silly. He was in a hilarious mood at dinner and I took advantage of that camera moment. What a cute cheeser!

After dinner, we partied all night!

We took turns each night taking Drake to bed (since dinner ended at 10:30pm). Going into this trip, we thought it might be hard, but it really wasn't! Both of us enjoyed taking turns going to bed early or reading a book in the room while Drake slept.

Drakey discovered the fun towel animals and chocolates that are left in your room each night and we had our own fun party getting ready for bed!
