Tuesday, May 8th- Cabo San Lucas!
(I'm discovering that I'm really bad at "narrowing down" these pictures and choosing the best ones to post. Oh well...hope you can endure!)
Tuesday we spent a GORGEOUS day in Cabo San Lucas. The weather was perfect. Hot, but not too hot. We decked out in our beach attire and headed for the shore.
I love the Mexico scene- loud music, beautiful plants and trees, sounds of the ocean, vendors everywhere shouting for your money (ok...that's annoying). But the rest is a blast!

The harbor was gorgeous and we saw some huge (and I'm sure expensive) yachts. (not those pictured)
We took a glass-bottom boat to the beach. Drake was discovering new things right and left!

We loved the beaches in Cabo. The sand was so soft. The water was well...salty. I don't love getting deep into the ocean, but at least got somewhat wet. I mostly enjoyed laying back and watching this cutie (and his awesome aunt) explore the ocean! (while trying not to listen to the crazy commentary behind me. We were sitting in front of some bar that had some pretty crazy things going on- yikes!) I can't remember where Rob was this whole time...Nice. I'll have to ask him.
It is so so so much fun to watch your little one discover something so new to them.
Drake was curious and excited about the sand, the "scary" waves, the big boat in the distance, and every other beach-y thing. What a great day to call his first day at the beach!
While the others stayed back on the beach to swim and relax, Staci, Hannah, and I put our lives in the hands of complete strangers and went parasailing! Ty came along to watch Staci and to take pictures. Here's some shots from the super long boat ride waiting for our turn to parasail.
Ok...all ready to go! Nervous, but excited (and hoping that crazy dude on the left knows what he's doing).
We did it! And, we're alive!!! I've parasailed a few times before and so has Staci, but this was Hannah's first time and it was hilarious to listen to her up in the air. She couldn't decide whether she was scared to death or having the time of her life. I'm just so glad the nice Mexican guy let us all go together (for Hannah's sake of course, not at all mine. Me, get nervous about heights?) :)
For the rest of the afternoon, we headed back to the beach and just enjoyed LIFE in CABO...Awww...
Coolest souvenir ever! (from grandma)
Dad took advantage of the cheap massages!
Stace lookin' STYLISH!
Mmm..and the authentic food is soooo good!
Me gorging out while Drake sneaks a sip of my Diet Coke. Caught! (this wasn't the first or last time this happened on this trip!)
Dad rented a jet ski for the boys and Rob took Drake on his first ride, which he loved!

A couple more pictures before heading back to the ship-

Once back on the boat, we got cleaned up, took naps (one good thing about that late dinner), and dressed up for another amazing dinner in the Gold Pearl dining room!
Those 2 hour dinners were hard for our little buddy. So, we had to get creative about entertaining him during dinner- we'd bring the DVD player and let him watch a movie, he'd play on Grandma's kindle, or just run around being crazy. :) And of course, lots of coloring. I took these pictures because this was the first time Drake actually tried to color inside of the lines. You can see it on the right picture on the fish. Way to go bud!
The moon reflecting off the ocean that night was truly amazing. We went out on the deck and took it all in. It was so peaceful and serene!
Drake was the opposite- loud and silly! He loved those long decks and ran back and forth (and I about had a heart attack watching him because I was sure he was going to somehow fall down and slide through those tiny railings into the ocean. I'm sure I was a joy to watch as I tried to run with him keeping myself between him and the giant ocean!)
At the end of the day, I thought to myself- this was my very favorite day- it was sunny and warm, I got to parasail, swim, and read my book. I got to watch my son discover the ocean and the beach!
BUT, guess what!?
The next day only got better....Stay tuned...
