Rob's parents received their mission call on Wednesday!
They will be serving in Farmington, New Mexico as member support missionaries (they are still learning what this will entail). They leave January 16th and will be gone for 1 year.
Our family is experiencing feelings of excitement and thrill for them! BUT..we are also experiencing some real sadness and not looking forward to them leaving. This one stings a bit. :(
What an amazing example they are to us though! This is their 4th mission! We are going to miss them sooooooooo much, but we are so thankful for their service and example. The nice thing about senior missionaries is that they don't have nearly as many rules as young elders, so we can hopefully Skype and call often so Drake will remember every little thing about them. They will only be 10ish hours away so we will have to go visit as well.
Now, we will just have to soak up every minute of time with them until they leave!
I had to throw this picture in here. My parents were there to watch Calvin & Nancy open their mission call and Nancy gave my mom her Christmas gift. They were both really excited about it because it's perfect for my mom!
After the mission reveal, we headed to our Ward Christmas party and I snapped these silly pictures of Drake and his best friend Axel. Axel is just a few months older than Drake and always makes the funniest, cutest faces. The big pic of him makes me laugh. These two are trouble....and super cute!
