I'm behind on blogging and want to get caught up before Christmas so there are going to be several posts in a row here.
Last Friday, December 17th we had the great opportunity of going to a Peter Breinholt Christmas concert. Rob & I went with Calvin & Nancy (his parents) and they treated us to a most scrumptious meal at Crown Burger (nothing like a traditional greasy hamburger- YUM!) and then to a spectacular concert. I have been having a really hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year. I just feel like this year flew so fast (my first year being a mom- I guess it was bound to fly by) and it feels to me like we just finished with Christmas 2009. Anyways, this concert really helped me to finally experience those Christmas feelings I've been trying to feel. Rob and I are big fans of Peter Breinholt. I just love his simple Christmas music. It was one of my favorite concerts we've seen. Thanks so much for the awesome date Calvin & Nancy! (Sadly, my camera battery died just as I was going to take a picture at the concert. Bummer...)
But, I do have pictures of our early Christmas with Calvin & Nancy/Grandma & Grandpa. We are so sad that they are going to Texas this year for Christmas, but happy for Amy & Tina's families that they get to have them for Christmas. It's not going to be the same without them here though!
Grandma and Grandpa Hunsaker came over Sunday night to exchange presents. Drake LOVES his grandparents and always squeals and gets really excited when he sees them.
Here's Drake in his Sunday Christmas outfit. I love seeing all the cute little kids dressed up in their Christmas dresses and outfits the Sunday before Christmas. My mom was nice to get this handsome outfit for Drake.
What a stud!
Drake got in some good practice opening presents (his birthday was the next day)! Grandpa was nice enough to let him help.
Drake got a ball-popper thing-a-ma-jing! I don't know what this toy is called, but we've all seen it before. I remember it from when I was little and I loved it! I had no idea they made them anymore. Drake loves it and played with it tons the next day! He also got some new books and shirts. Thanks Gram & Gramps!!! Rob and I also love our gifts- 2 new books and a Kohl's gift certificate for me(new clothes coming my way!) and slacks and outside tree trimmers for Rob. Thanks so much!
Drake had an absolute ball with all the wrapping paper and tissue paper! He was shaking it up and down and throwing it all over, laughing his head off. This kid seriously cracks me up! He knows how to perform, that is for sure!
Nancy is the best mother-in-law. She helped me bake several cakes and make soup for Drake's birthday party the next day. I don't know what I would have done without her- been up really late, that's for sure!
Grandpa snuck a little taste of chocolate cake batter to Drake. Do you think he liked it?
We always LOVE when Grandma and Grandpa come over to visit! We feel so blessed to have them so close. We only wish we would have them for Christmas!!
