September 30th-October 3rd, we headed to California to see Rob and look for a house! My dad came to work and my mom came to help us, and it was so great to have them both there. We spent the first few days in Petaluma and then the last two in San Francisco.
I never once pulled out my nice camera in Petaluma (boo!), so here's a look at our trip from my iPhone-
You can imagine our excitement as we arrived in Petaluma to see Robert after our family had spent 4 weeks apart. It was like Christmas morning!
We first spent some time at Rob's work and Drake scored a ride on the fork-lift!
My dad and Nicky (Rob's boss) shared their "talents" on the guitar.
And, we got to see and meet all of Rob's co-workers again- love them all!
Some Daddy/Son time was very much needed----
go-karts and the arcade were a perfect place to play together!
The next day brought lots of house hunting (Rob had everything organized perfectly-thanks babe!), yummy food (I'm going to get so fat here), lunch with Rob's co-workers (getting to know them was so great! They are awesome!), swimming at the hotel pool, naps, and an evening at the driving range (which made a certain little boy very happy)-
Then, a night out in beautiful Downtown Petaluma- amazing Italian food, meandering around by the river, and a long stop at the cutest little candy store where Drake got a sack full of junk.
On Saturday, we looked at houses all day (yawn...), but HOORAY- this was the day we found a cute house to rent! And just yesterday (10/10), we found out we got it and we will move in on November 2nd!
That night for dinner, we met up with Mikal, Jennifer, and Claire (brother, sister-in-law, niece). I'm sad I didn't get a picture! We had a delicious steak dinner, visited, and laughed lots. We are all so excited to live closer to one another!
This night also involved a scary experience for little Drake! We went swimming after dinner and had a great time, but after getting Drake out of the pool and TAKING OFF HIS WATER WINGS, we were packing things up and he ran and jumped into the pool. Of course, we were right there quick and I jumped in and grabbed him. He wasn't even gasping for air or anything, but it sure scared us all to death! Never taking my eye off of that kid at the pool!
The next day...San Francisco!
