Saying Goodbye to my Job...

I have worked as a nurse on the Mother/Baby floor at Logan Regional Hospital for 4 1/2 years now!
So, it was definitely very bittersweet to say goodbye to my job last week.

It was always a dream of mine to be a nurse and to work with babies. That dream came true when I got this job straight out of nursing school! I bawled when I found out I got it- I can't believe it has been over four years since then. I couldn't have started at a better place with better people.

I know in the past I have whined about being a working mom, but I really have been so fortunate to have such a great career! I really love nursing and love taking care of people (except the mean ones). I have had the opportunity to take care of many friends and family members over the years- what fun times!
I have learned so much in this job! I definitely love maternity care and can't see myself anywhere else.

Of course, the best part of my job was the people I worked with! Such amazing friends, nurses, and colleagues that I learned a great deal from. The memories I have are endless, most from the late hours of the night as we tried to stay awake. Ha!
Such good times and I am going to miss everyone so much!
I love you all!

My friends threw me a fun party at my second to last shift-
And we ordered out Cafe Rio on my last night-
Thanks a lot for making me cry you two! :(
I have been so excited about quitting my job. I do love it, but for the last couple years I have looked forward to working less and this move to California is making that possible. (What a blessing!)
I have been looking forward to my last days at work with excitement and a sense of relief that I could finally focus on packing and getting on with life.

So...I was totally shocked with myself when I started crying as I walked out of Logan Regional at 6:00am Friday morning after working my last shift. It felt so bittersweet to leave a place where I feel comfortable and confident in my nursing skills and where I have a "nursing family".
I will miss my job and my friends so much and will always look back at the Mom/Baby floor in Logan with the fondest of memories.

Let's see where California takes me...
(and the California pay raise it brings! Yes!)
