DAY 3
Saturday was a favorite day.
First, we visited the Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm.
A little history: In 2000, a man in St. George was digging on his property and discovered dinosaur tracks. An excavation team was brought in and thousands were found. The site was turned into a museum and houses the most tracks found to date.
Drake loves dinosaurs and had a complete blast at the dino discovery site. Such a fun place for kids! Here he is digging for bones and looking for tracks with Grandpa.
We brought a picnic and just enjoyed the nice day while the kiddos played-
Savannah is just chuck-full of personality as you can see. Love her!
Inside of the museum were all sorts of displays and actual tracks to follow and look at. It was extremely interesting to me. I love this kind of stuff. History is so cool.
Staci didn't think my really awesome ideas for posing were as awesome as I did. :)
Thanks for all the help Uncle Ty! I love this pic of you and Sare-bear.
After exploring Johnson Farm and leaving with some cool dinosaur books as souvenirs, we drove just a short ways to one of our favorite spots in St. George to hike around on the beautiful red rocks.
We have always called this spot "The Narrows", but I just recently discovered that it's also called "The Red Crack". We've been coming here since I was little and could run straight through it. It's basically a giant crack that runs up the mountain that you hike/squeeze through to get to the top. It's so cool and a good check to know if you've gained weight since the last time you came (seriously, it's SO narrow). I really don't know that my post-baby body could make it through right at this time and I didn't try, but these 4 did it twice!
At the entrance-
From the top looking down-
(Mom & I hiked around to the top to watch them come out)
Squeeeeezing through...
Kate said Drake kept saying "I'm not gonna make it, I'm not gonna make it" as he basically walked forward through it all. haha!
Gorgeous view from the top. I absolutely love St. George and have years of memories from here.
Discovering a cave on our way back to the car-
^^^And discovering Drake grew like 2 feet...what!? He looks too big in this picture!
From my memory, we finished this night off with takeout and Swig (of course).
