I can't go without documenting the most amazing thing that my Dad did for me when it came time for us to travel to Utah for Christmas vacation. He flew to California and drove with me!
I tried to talk him out of it and convince him that I could do it by myself, but WOW! I don't know what I was thinking. I don't know what I would have done without him.
We drove 6 hours on Thursday and 6 hours on Friday.
Thursday went great with Drake sleeping for most of it and my dad always making me laugh. Dad drove most of the way because he is truly the best. Friday was a bit harder- Drake didn't sleep at all and was so ready to be out of the car- we all were! But we made it safe and sound without ever having any problems with snow or sleepiness.
I absolutely loved spending this one-on-one time with my Daddy. I can't remember when we've ever had that much time to just sit and talk. I loved every minute of it! And, I'm so grateful he was willing to come drive with me so that Robert could stay in CA and work longer and so we didn't have to spend oodles of money on flying us all out there. Love ya Dad!
