Christmas

Christmas Eve this year was filled with our favorite traditions.
We tried to put all the sickness aside, dress up, and enjoy the beautiful night!
We had an amazing dinner, sang Christmas music around the piano, opened sibling presents, Christmas jammies, and Christmas books. We read our new Christmas stories, then drove around and looked at the Christmas lights while drinking hot chocolate. Sounds pretty glamorous huh!? I won't mention that there was a lot of whining (from me), coughing and crying from sick Drake, and many stomachs hurting. :)

Drake serenading us with Rudolph, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and Jingle Bells. And helping Dad play The Little Drummer Boy (they'd worked on it all day)-
Present time-
That's a lot of pink!
A picture of how we all REALLY felt-
Storytime-

Now fast forward 8 hours later to 6 am Christmas Day...
Now, this picture is just HILARIOUS!
(Ouch, that hurts the eyes to look at! haha!)
The plan was not to wake Drake up, but he wasn't about to miss out on all the fun. We lined up on the stairs and raced downstairs to see if Santa had found us in Utah!?
And we caught this glimpse of Drake's pure joy- So sweet...
Drake had a blast opening all of his presents, but he moved slowly and played with them along the way. We didn't rush him and just enjoyed the experience. Each Christmas with him is just getting funner and funner! He was so excited about his new gun and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse that he asked Santa for! Santa must have dropped his sleigh at this house though (in the form of Grandma and Grandpa spoiling him). Wow! We sure took a lot of fun loot home!

We hope Grandma Sheri and Grandma Hunsaker love their new oven mitts that Drake made for them!
Christmas Day this year was "especially special" because we got to Skype with my brother Hunter on his mission. We talked to him for over 3 hours with lots of extended family coming and going. It was such an amazing experience to see him and talk to him. We're so proud of him!
(Waking up at 6am soon caught up with Drake while we were skyping)

What a Christmas to remember- the good, the bad, and the ugly! :)

OH! And check out my SURPRISE Christmas present that was waiting back at home. Yeah, I'm so in love!

Only you Payne ladies can look that incredible even when you're sick. I love that you got all dressed up anyway and made the best of the night.

Drake looks like he had the best time. I can't imagine NOT having a great time when Sheri is your grandma! I bet she had so much fun shopping for him!

I love you guys. It's been fun to catch up on all your posts.
