Bats & Balls

There can't be a child on earth who loves BALLS more than Drake.
When Drake wakes up in the morning, the first sound he makes is "at-at-at"
Oh I'm sorry, you don't know what "at-at-at" means?
It means "ball" of course. Sounds just like it right? Haha.
Then, he runs around the house playing with every ball in sight.

He may not be able to say the word yet, but he can do everything else with a ball.
*Kick!
*Bounce!
*Throw! And, throw hard! He has got the strongest arm and best aim.
*Hit with a bat!
*Hit with a golf club!
*Kiss! Yes, he even kisses them sometimes.
*Point the ball out on TV (basketball games, baseball games, etc.)
*Point at the balls in books or on his jammies.

Everywhere we go, we must take a ball with us.
The kid cracks me up.

He loves basketballs, baseballs, golf balls, footballs, bouncy balls, easter eggs that he thinks are balls, soccer balls, and every other thing that resembles a ball in any way.

On this specific morning, he was sitting up on daddy and pointed and grunted at every ball in the room until I put them all up on him. Then he was very happy!
I think Daddy likes that Drake is ALL-BOY!
Grandpa loves Drake's obsession as well.
He bought Drake this fun baseball set and Drake loves it and plays with it every time we are at their house.
Which has brought on a new obsession with BATS!
Did you know that a screw-driver, a brush, a play hammer, or a stick are all bats?!
Just ask Drake, he knows how to use them ALL to hit the balls around.
Drake especially loves Uncle Hunter's REAL metal bat.

For an early Easter present, I bought Drake a $5 plastic golf club set from Walmart.
I had no idea he would love it so much. He always has one of the golf clubs in his hand and runs around the house all day long hitting the balls around, hitting the floor, the couches, Sasha, and us. You definitely have to watch out when Drake has the club! (I'll have to get a pic of this sometime)

A few random pictures:

Drake stands by the door every day. Mommy, take me outside!

This was such a fun day and I only have this one terrible phone picture to document it.
My dad and Hunter took Drake, Katelyn, and I on a crazy jeep ride up in the mountains by Tremonton.
Drake was laughing because of all the bumps. I can't remember all the details, but just that it was really fun!

Lastly, for those that read my blog, you might remember me talking about Drake's other obsession- Rar-rar's. A "rar-rar" (according to Drake) is any animal that has antlers, horns, or anything resembling antlers or horns. It's also any animal that growls or looks scary.
Mainly it's elk, deer, bears, lions, tigers, etc.
Robert gets Mule Deer Foundation magazines in the mail and Drake LOVES them!
They are his favorite "books" to look at and he is constantly bringing me the magazine to read with him. He points at every deer and growls "RARR-RARR!"
Check it out-
(you might need to turn the sound up to hear the "rar-rar" growls. And if anyone knows how to turn these darn videos, please leave me a comment!)

I bet Grandpa Bob is one proud guy!!! We'll look forward to big things from this little guy.

As for the video, if you do it on One True Media, there's a place where you can flip the video. I have no idea on YouTube.

Drake is such a cutie and I love hearing you write about him!

Major accomplishment today - Drake sat on my lap while his Grandma, Mom and Dad were right there. I was so proud and loved every minute. I did cheat a little, I had a bag of cheetos and a blanket with BALLS on it!!! Love that little guy!!!

You are so good at keeping up with your blog. It is so so cute! I love the new picture you have as your header, you all look great! I bet Rob is very excited about Drake's ball obsession. Dane is hoping the same thing for our little guy, he has already tried to play catch with him. Too bad my stomach is in the way! haha Love the little T-Ball stand!

He is adorable! I love how he turns the pages in the magazine, like he is reading it. How cute. I'm looking forward to when Calvin gets to that stage, but at the same time I want him to stay little!
