Spring Break Girl's Trip: Ocean-view Drive

A couple weeks ago (April 2nd-6th), we had the awesome privilege of hosting three gorgeous girlies for 5 days. Tash (16) and Kendra (18) were Drake's babysitters when we lived in Brigham City and Braquel (22) is Tash's sister. The three of them are great friends to us and when they asked if they could come visit over their Spring Break, we were like, "HECK YES!"
We loooooove visitors!

We filled each and every day with lots of activities. We used the girl's coming as an opportunity and excuse to finally do many of the things we've wanted to do (and see) around here for awhile now. I don't think we'll ever get to do all that Northern Cali has to offer us, but we at least got a start on it during this week. What a blast!

Braquel, Tash, and Kendra arrived on Tuesday morning. After Rob picked them up from the airport, they came to our house to rest for a little while. It was so fun to see these cute girls again and Drake was super excited, of course!
We decided to immediately head out on a beautiful drive to see the ocean.
Rob & I hadn't been to the coast since our trip here in the summer and Drake hadn't seen the ocean since our cruise in May, so this was something we have really been looking forward to doing as a family.

It was overcast and windy which is a typical ocean day in Northern California, but nothing beats seeing the ocean and being on a beach, no matter the temperature.
At first I apologized for the chilly weather, but no one cared- we had a blast!
Drake was HILARIOUS to watch- the kid was having the time of his life.

Check it out-

I find the ocean to be one of the most beautiful things in the world, so my camera was shooting non-stop. Here are SEVERAL pictures I think are worth sharing-
Definitely a highlight of this day was seeing a sea lion in it's natural habitat playing in the waves!
Perfect weather for kite flying!
Braquel and Drake became best buddies
Check out the giant waves!
 Love my sweet boy...
We drove along the coast for awhile and had to stop when we spotted this gorgeous view with a field of wildflowers growing in front of it-
We feel so thankful to have such beauty so close to us!

Later this night, we got a babysitter for Drake and surprised the girls with a really nice Italian dinner in Petaluma and 1 hour foot/body massages- we hope it was a fantastic start to their trip!
