Spring Break Girl's Trip: A Day in San Francisco

I think Rob and I are slowly getting better at showing off parts of San Francisco. You'd think we would possibly get sick of it, but I don't see that ever happening. It's a new, exciting adventure every time and I'm falling in love with this beautiful city!

Rob & I have been wanting to visit Alcatraz island and we found out it was something the girls were interested in doing as well. Perfect! A few weeks before they came, we booked our tickets (it's a busy place!) for Thursday, April 4th and asked our friends to take Drake for the day. Well, as the time approached, we watched the weather and discovered that it was supposed to be an extremely rainy day in the city. No refunds or exchanges on Alcatraz tickets were allowed. Grrr! We were feeling bummed to take the girls there on such a yucky day.

Well Thursday morning arrived and we told them to dress warm! We grabbed plenty of coats, rain-gear, and umbrellas. We decided there was nothing we could do about the weather and we would have a fun day regardless. And guess how it went???? NO. RAIN. PERIOD.
Yeah, that's right. Yes, it was overcast. Yes, it was slightly chilly. But that meant zero crowds, zero lines, and hardly any people in the busiest parts of the city. It was probably our best trip there yet!
I think we drove the girls nuts with the amount of times Rob or I exclaimed- "There are no crowds!"

Check out our overcast, but crowd-less, fantastic day in the city!

Golden Gate Bridge
Full House Sites
 Alcatraz
View of the city from the ferry-
Alcatraz Island-
Alcatraz was such a cool experience and a must-see for those visiting here. We found out it's the 2nd most visited national site in the U.S. --Interesting.

Lombard Street
Chinatown
My 2 favorites in Chinatown- the greatest Chinese restaurant ever! and a bracelet that I love!

Not pictured in this post was Pier 39 shopping, hot fudge sundaes at Ghiradelli (of course!), more site-seeing, and driving around the city admiring the architecture. I think this was the girls favorite day! I'm telling ya, this city is incredible!
