Last Tuesday, April 9th, my mom came to stay with us for a whole week! She left Tuesday of this week.
I don't really know where to start on talking about how much I loved having my mom here! I can't recall a time in my life when I've had her completely to myself for that long. It was so great!
I didn't pull out my big camera while she was here, but did take lots of little snapshots throughout the week. I love them all so I'm sharing them all. :)
After picking Grandma up from the airport on Tuesday, we drove nearby to the Oakland Temple to eat lunch (did I mention Mom brought me a Cafe Rio salad from the SLC airport- it's been a major craving!)
The Oakland Temple is becoming one of my favorites.
It's so beautiful and the grounds are gorgeous this time of year.
This is looking out over Oakland from the temple. You can see San Francisco and the bay far off in the distance. It's a beautiful view!
Just a TAD excited to see Grandma-
We kept Grandma's week here quite low-key. Lots of relaxing!
But we also played and played and played- Drake was in complete heaven with Grandma Sheri here.
We did a ton of shopping for Drake, Little Sister on the way, and for my pregnant body. I'm so thankful to my parents for spoiling us so. It really did my self-esteem good to finally get some clothes that fit my growing body and were comfortable.
My mom helped me with several projects around the house and with projects for the baby shower last week.
She also spoiled us with take-out food, restaurants, and a full-body massage for her and I. Awww...so wonderful!
One day, we took her Drake's favorite park- Howarth Park. The weather couldn't have been better while she was here. Drake showed Grandma how good he is at feeding the ducks.
Another night, Drake & Grandma went out on a "date". All day Drake kept asking when they were going on their date and he was thrilled when the time finally came. Grandma took him to Scandia nearby, an arcade place with go-karts, mini golfing, etc.
Our funnest day together was going to Sausalito.
First, we ate lunch at this beautiful restaurant right on the water. The view was breathtaking and the food was incredible!
Then we spent the early evening exploring the shops, doing some fun shopping, and taking in the beautiful view.
We miss Grandma so much already! This goodbye was a stinky one. We will just hope the time flies until we see her again!
Thank you so much Mom for taking the time to come stay with us when I know your life is crazy busy right now. We loved every second of it and only wish it would have lasted longer! Love you!!
