What a GREAT Weekend! (4th of July)

It has been such an amazing weekend!
We spent so much time together as a family (I loved that Rob had 3 days off).
It was one of those weekends that you never want to end with lots of moments you just sit and savor.

Do you ever have those moments that are just so enjoyable that you never want to forget them so you take lots of pictures to try to remember?
That was definitely the story of this weekend!
So here are a gazillion pictures of our fun!

THURSDAY
Drake & I went to Grandma Hunsaker's to make strawberry jam (Thanks so much Nancy!) and see Tina and her girls. They are visiting from Georgia for reunions and family time. It was so wonderful to see them and to finally meet our newest niece Lucy- the sweetest little baby!
Playing the organ is one of Drake's favorite things at Grandma's house.

FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS
Fireworks at USU!
Ate Cafe Rio while listening to Diamond Rio- both delish!
 Great time with the fam.
 (Below)
Lots of clapping and dancing to the music.
Blow-out by Drake right when we got there (hasn't had one in months) so he sported the white trash diaper look the rest of the night...Nice.
Savored my baby's first firework show though and felt overwhelmed with emotion for those who have served our country and given us the freedoms we enjoy.
Spectacular music and fireworks.
Mom caught this sweet photo.

SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS
Yard work and housework.
Pool party at Sandalls!
Hamburgers on the grill, watermelon, green salad, and baked beans= SUMMERTIME!
Got tickled to death in the pool by the guys :(
Drake loves the water now- jumping, swimming, floating, and playing ball!
 Hung out with this weirdo!
She loved Drake's shark towel. And I LOVE her!
(I hope Whitty never loses her hilarious personality!)
Whitty took a thousand pictures of Drake and I love 'em-
(especially the bottom right where he is playing hide-n-seek)
Oh and this one- LOVE!
Afterwards, at home, Daddy put on a firework show for Drake & I.
Drake discovered that fireworks are SO COOL!
Us-"Drake, what do the fireworks say?"
Drake- "Boom! Boom!"

SUNDAY- baking, church, work til 11, no sleep, naughty baby, etc. (Let's just forget that day!)

MONDAY HIGHLIGHTS
INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

Cleaning, baking, laundry.
Watching Hunter's baseball games at Pioneer Park here in Brigham City
Just hangin' out with family in lawn chairs and blankets with plenty of chips and cookies.
Watching a bunch of goofy girls (Hannah & friends)- oh, to be that age again!
Drake played until his face was bright red- hitting the golf ball over and over and OVER again!
Later, he ran the bases over and over and OVER again, kicked in the sand, and boogied to the music.
We had so much fun as a family just  hanging out and relaxing before the fireworks started.
But while waiting, things just got weird!
(When Whitty gets a hold of my camera, the following results)
And even weirder as we tried to entertain ourselves.
Ok, fellow cousins- can you guess who's eye is who's?
When us cousins get together, we have ourselves a silly good time! So great!

Gorgeous sunset as we played and laughed and relaxed in our RED, WHITE, AND BLUE!
 Great firework show!!!
And crazy glasses that made the fireworks look like you were looking through a kaleidoscope.
And, another moment I soaked up every second of.
I think fireworks are gorgeous. And, especially when enjoying them with my little Drake.

Lastly, the greatest part about this weekend?
It's only just beginning!
Tomorrow we leave for our Hunsaker family reunion for the week! YAY!
Can't wait to see everyone and spend more time with family- truly the greatest of times!

Happy Independence Day!
This year, I have really tried to remember those that fought for our country and I've felt a stronger appreciation for the freedoms I have. I'm so thankful for the military and for my grandpa who fought in WWII.
And to quote my absolute favorite patriotic song-
"I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me. And, I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today. Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land. God Bless the USA."

What a fun fourth of July! I love how often you post. Your little man is so cute, even with a diaper as pants!

Linds,
You are a doll! I loved catching up on all your posts. You are such an awesome wife and mother -- and really so very thoughtful. You take note of, and appreciate, the little things that make life sweet! Thanks for being a great example!
