Drake's favorite toy?

THE BASKETBALL

Daddy is SO PROUD. 

He lifts it up as high as he can and throws it with a big grunt...over...and....over again.

I find him in the oddest places just hanging out with his ball. He even tries to take it up the stairs.

The basketball is what got him to walk.

He even likes to go to basketball games.

And...he actually watches!

We love watching Whitty cheer and Uncle Hunter being a crazy fan!

We also get to watch Daddy play in a city league on Wednesdays and play church ball on Saturdays.

We are basketball fans through and through.

New Special Things Drake Does:

• Says "Ahhh" after drinking
• Says "Rarr-Rarr" in a growling voice to everything. It is the most unique thing he does. 1st- there's the wooden giraffe on a shelf above his crib. I know Drake is awake when I suddenly hear him say "Rarr-Rarr" to the giraffe through the monitor. It makes me laugh everytime. 2nd- there's a set of antlers that Rob found in a field and brought home from hunting one time (we cleaned them of course!). I leave them on our bookshelf in the family room just because Drake loves them so much. He dashes in to see them every morning and several times during the day. He gets so excited when I take them down and let him play with them. Odd...or what? 3rd- he says "rar-rar" to any tiger, bear, deer, or elk. 4th- he loves a hunting magazine Rob got in the mail that is full of pictures of deer. It's just hilarious!
• Just recently, he's started coming to me and hugging me when he is overwhelmed with too many people in the room or when he's tired. He's hasn't been a cuddly baby before now, so I'm loving this!
• Waves his hands "bye-bye" when he's trying to balance himself while walking.
• At night when he's playing and content, the minute we say "Wanna go night-night?", he suddenly gets fussy, whiney and tired, and crawls in the kitchen for his bottle.
• He heads straightway for the bathroom when you say "Do you want to take a bath?" and gets so excited.
• He's really starting to enjoy playing with other kids. He especially loves to just stare at them and watch what they are doing. Here he is with his friends Shelby and Parker at our Superbowl Party.
