Drake will be 9 months in two days! AGH! Time- Please slow down! I am in serious denial that he will be 1 in just 3 months! Let’s not think about it.
Drake is such a great baby. As he’s getting older he’s starting to get more of a personality and a little “spunkiness” has started to come out.The best words to describe his personality:
Drake is such a great baby. As he’s getting older he’s starting to get more of a personality and a little “spunkiness” has started to come out.The best words to describe his personality:
happy, easy-going, clingy, inquisitive, active, loud.
Drake has many nicknames- Drakey, Drakester, Draker-1-9, Little Buddy.
A Day in the Life of Drake:
- I wake up around 6:00am and eat. I go back to sleep until 8 or 9 and eat again.
- I play with my toys or play in my jumper. Sometimes, I watch my Baby Einstein DVD while mom gets ready. I am very intrigued by the TV and usually sit still for 15 minutes watching my DVD. Other times, I sit with dad and watch Sports Center.
- I go down for a nap around 10:00 and usually sleep for about 1-2 hours. I’m still working on becoming a better napper. I require a fan and music to go to sleep and sometimes I scream for forever until someone comes and rocks me to sleep. Most of the time though, I only fuss for a bit and then go down.
- I wake up and nurse again and eat yummy vegetables or fruits. My favorites are bananas, apples, carrots, watermelon, pears, and fruit smoothies (basically anything sweet). I’m not a fan of green beans or peas, but I’m forced to eat them some days. Sometimes, I'm so hungry, I eat the tray. :)
- Next, me and mom usually go for a walk outside. Walks always calm me down.
- I love to play outside in the grass! This is my friend and neighbor Brooke. I love to watch her run around outside and she loves to squeeze me really tight!
- We read lots of books and I’m learning to turn the pages. Of all the many colorful, bright toys I have, I grab most for my parent’s phones, Ipods, computer mouse, and especially the TV remote (as seen in this picture).
- I play on the floor a lot with my toys. I’m rolling all over the place now, but sometimes I get so frustrated when I’m laying on my belly and I see a toy in front of me and I just can’t figure out how to get to it. Someday, I’ll finally be able to crawl.
- I love to sit with my basket of toys and take every one of them out and play with it. Usually, I start fussing for mom when the basket is empty.
- After playing for awhile, I go down for an afternoon nap.
- After I wake up, I nurse, play more and wait for Daddy to come home. I get so excited when he gets home and I reach for him really well! Look at our cool trick-
- For dinner, I eat veggies or fruit and cereal- yum! I have a big appetite at night! I am so close to getting teeth! I know they will come any day now and it will make it a lot easier to eat around here. Until then, I have these Nuby’s (Best invention ever!) that she puts food in and I can eat it through the mesh cloth so I won't choke on pieces that I bite off.
- At night, we hang out as a family and usually play outside with our friends for awhile. Here's my friend Brooke again. My other best friend is Sasha my dog! I like to grab her tail and ears and squeeze them really hard, and grab handfuls of her skin with my nails. For some reason, she always runs away from me. Huh?
- Then comes my favorite time of day- BATH Time!
- I kick and splash and kick and splash until everything around me is soaked! I'm learning to pull myself up to the side of the tub. At the end of my bath, I even help mom drain the tub!

- I go to bed around 8:30 while nursing and I’m usually out like a log for the night. Some nights I wake up and fuss for awhile, but mom and dad have learned that I’ll go back to sleep if they let me cry a little.
Things I Can Do:
- All day long, I am so loud! I yell “BABABABA” a lot! I also say "Puh, puh" and "Kakaka".
- I can clap and do “SOOO Big!” with my arms (as seen in previous post).
- I jump like a frog! When people are holding me, I jump and jump and jump and their arms usually tire out before my legs do!
- I’m learning to give high fives and wave, but haven’t figured those out quite yet.
5 Things that make me unique:
1. My Crazy Straight, always-sticks-up Hair
2. My beautiful big, blue eyes
3. I make a growling sound in the back of my throat that is hilarious!
4. I make the funniest faces!
5. The way I suck on my lower lip all the time.
And That's Me!
