One evening, my dad and I took Sara to meet Grandma Payne at the nursing home.
Our sweet Sara Irene is named after my grandma Irene.
It was so important to us that they meet while we were in Utah.
This was such a special moment and one I'll never forget.
This memory would have been priceless to me no matter what.
But, what now makes it beyond priceless is that my Grandma passed away almost exactly one week later after this night.
These pictures don't need captions, they are just wonderful and evoke their own emotion.
But, so that I don't forget....Grandma didn't really know who my dad and I were. She had severe Alzheimer's disease. But, wow, did she love my sweet Sara. She admired her, touched her, held her, shushed her, kissed her, and talked to her. She's always adored children and babies and her disease did not change that in her. It was truly an amazing evening with Grandma. I'll cherish it forever.
I'll forever be grateful that we chose to travel to Utah to bless Sara, that we took Sara to meet Grandma this night, and that we took these pictures. I know it wasn't by coincidence.

Beautiful photos Lindsey! What a tender mercy that these two wonderful spirits were able to reconnect on earth for even a small time!
