When Sara was just a little over a month old, we traveled to Utah.
Yes, that's right, I FLEW ALONE with both kids- a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 month old. I was so nervous to do it by myself, but it went surprisingly well! (We went for for over a week and Rob couldn't miss that much work, or else he would have flown with us. He came several days later and then we all flew back together.)
We decided to go to Utah because we wanted Sara to be blessed there where most of our immediate and extended family is.
We had such a fantastic trip!
Really, it was my favorite trip home of them all, mostly because it was the first time I wasn't traveling pregnant and sick. I was actually able to enjoy the trip and have the energy to do lots of fun things.
I have oodles of pictures so we are going to do this COLLAGE style so this post doesn't go on for days. Alrighty?
The flight to Utah went so much better than I expected! I held Sara in my moby wrap and she slept almost the entire flight. Drake is pretty much a pro at flying and just plays on the iPad the whole time. :)
I always feel like a movie star when I come to the baggage gate at the SLC airport and my family is there waiting for me. They make it so fun! Gramma had really been missing her grandbabies. (Take a sec and check out Drake sprinting to his grandma off of the escalator. That face. It was pretty special)
3 kiddos on the stroller at the airport, then straight to Bountiful to meet Aunt Brookie!
The main highlight of this trip was meeting family and Sara's blessing which I'll do in separate posts. But, here are a few of the other fun parts:
Friday Night Lights! We were so happy to get to watch Katie cheer in not 1, but TWO football games while we were there. It's hard for me to miss watching her cheer her senior year, so I'm so glad we got to see her in her element. She's amazingly talented!
Sara looked so cute in her little Bear River outfit, Drake loved playing with his little cousins Jeter and Claire, and Drake got to meet another Drake! Drake Walker! Which is where we got his name from. (top left pic)
All the family at Katelyn's second game
The first signs of a little chub appeared on Miss Sara during this trip. haha
And she start giving us much more of that sweet, new smile!
Probably my favorite picture of the whole trip...
The fam took us to this new giant trampoline place in Logan. Such a blast!
(And that's what Gramma & Sara did the whole time) :)
My mom tends Savannah a few days a week, so we got plenty of fun cousin time together with the kids.
We spent a few evenings at G&G Hunsaker's house too and especially enjoyed Nancy's amazing cooking...mmmm! Drake loved playing with the toys there and seeing the sheep (that turn into ghosts at night). ? ? ?
One night, Mom treated me to a spa night. It was so needed and so wonderful! It got rid of all of my post-pregnancy back ache and I walked out with a fresh pedicure. Another favorite of the trip!
Everyone loved on my kids and made us all feel so loved.
Sara's blessing was the same day as our nephew Jeff's farewell (worked out perfectly) so we were able to spend a Sunday afternoon and evening with the Hunsaker family. Drake loved playing with his older cousins!...They were so cute with him!
Jeff gave an incredible farewell talk and dinner/hanging out with the family after was so great! Jeff will be an amazing missionary. We are so excited to hear from him over the next two years on his mission!
Lunch at Iggy's on the way to the airport-
Then, two cute kiddos snuggled up on the plane to fly home.
Thanks to everyone for such a fun trip!
