Today

So...Our Baby Girl is here!
We just kind of forgot about our blog. :)

I just uploaded 500 pictures to our computer- Yikes! I have a lot to sort through. So that I don't get completely overwhelmed, I'm just going to start blogging today's activities and try to stay on top of what's happening currently and I'll catch up on the last 1 1/2 weeks over time.
I know you are all on the edge of your seats hoping to read my birth story....(ha)....but you'll just have to wait.

TODAY, I want to share these darling pictures of the two little loves of my life.
I get the most beautiful lighting on my bed in my room and this morning was a perfect time to snap some pictures of the kids when they were both so happy. And woah, it feels so weird to say "the kids".
Drake truly loves her just as genuinely as these pictures show.
Sara is a fantastic baby. She is 12 days old. She is breastfeeding so well (about every 3 hours) and we are already doing leaps and bounds better in that department than I did with Drake. She is a terrible little burper though. :) It takes awhile after feeding her to finally get a giant belch out of her and then she's happy as can be. She is more alert the last few days and spends more time looking around and taking in her surroundings (not really focusing on anything yet though). She sleeps so much! I had forgotten just how much newborns sleep.
Her Daddy has already given her the nickname of "Little Miss" and it fits her so sweetly.
I love her every little feature.
Seriously...Drake is amazing with her...more than we could have hoped for!
One of the things we were most excited about when Sara was born was ALL THAT HAIR!
It's so fun to have a baby girl with hair!
Miss Sara Irene Hunsaker
Having our beautiful Sara here has brought such a tangible, sweet spirit into our home. Lately, my heart is just bursting with love for my little ones.
I adore her in every way (and I adore the little photographer behind the camera) even if it means dirty hair, dark circles under my eyes, and a nightgown covered in milk and spit-up. This is one of my most favorite times in life.
Today was my first day on my own (without my mom or Rob here) and it went surprisingly great! I was able to get a few things accomplished, get ready, feed and bathe us all, and still find some time to play with Drake and take a little nap (thanks to an awesome friend for taking Drake for the afternoon).

Tonight was really wonderful. A friend brought dinner over for us (I have the most fantastic ward family here!) and after dinner, we went on a walk together as a family and ended up at the park. Drake and Rob played on the playground and I sat on a bench holding Sara. I felt so happy in that moment looking at my family and thinking about all that I have. I'm so blessed and so fortunate to have this amazing life.

Congrats!!! She is absolutely beautiful and I'm glad she arrived safe and sound!!! I love all that hair and I hope she continues to grow healthy and strong. It's amazing how these sweet little spirits change your life for the better. I never knew I could enjoy being sleep deprived and in mommy mode (messy hair, dirty clothes, and constant diaper changes)so much! Love on that baby as much as possible!!

There is something SO magical about a newborn. They really do bring this amazing little slice of heaven into the home. I'm loving that you are mom to 2! So amazing!
