Pure Joys of Childhood (in the yard)

We had so much fun in the yard the other day.

A hose + a little boy= PURE JOY.

This picture event started with Drake thinking it was the coolest thing ever to drink from the garden hose. Well, because it is pretty cool to drink from the garden hose, even I think so. From there, Drake discovered that Mom & Dad weren't going to get mad if he drenched himself in water so he did just that...over and over again! Eventually, he fell face first into the mud and we laughed like crazy.

This night is honestly one of my favorite memories ever. Drake was a complete and total hoot to watch and he had Rob & I both smiling from ear to ear. He was so excited about getting wet! He was giggling and running and teasing and jumping and smiling as big as can be. My sister Staci came over later this night (to make the watermelon carriage in the post below) and we talked about how there are moments in time when you feel like you are experiencing a little piece of what heaven will be like. And I told Staci, "Tonight was one of those moments!" It's funny the things that can bring simple, pure joy....On this night? A water hose. Yep, it was awesome.

Our tulips were so gorgeous this year (thank you previous owners)- no photo editing done on this pic! Sadly, they died the next week. And we did weed this flower bed the next day! Yikes, it looks bad here. But, pretty tulips nonetheless.

It's kinda fun to view these pictures consecutively so I threw this little video together-

He looks so happy! Those were the days, when a garden hose made everything better. Maybe adults need to simplify their lives a little bit :)

HI Linds! Thanks for the sweet comments! Things have been busy and good. I sure hope you guys enjoy your trip! I'm jealous. Of course I will always ask if you can judge as long as I'm doing it! Ps I still think we should do a 5 or 10k this summer... just saying.
