Sara Irene: 6 months

Miss Sara had her 6 month appointment on March 3rd!
(she's actually 6 1/2 months, but we got off track on her visits)

Weight: 16 pounds 9.5 ounces (50%)
Height: 2 feet 2.5 inches or 26.5 inches (60%)
I need to look up Drake's stats at this age to compare. But already, Rob & I can tell that Sara has quite a bit more "chunk" than Drake did. I love her little rolls, as Drake never had that.
She is healthy and doing great!

A little about Sara at 6 months:
Sara is just an absolute joy. Almost always smiley, BUT has started to develop some spunk and has found her voice. She'll let you know when she's upset.

Rolling lots both ways. She doesn't always do it though. She has to be in a certain fun mood and then she'll roll all over the room.

Babbles, blows bubbles, squeals, and squawks lots.

Wears 3 month & 6 month clothes. Size 3 shoe. Just upped to size 3 diapers.

Always has a bow in her hair. She asks her mommy (me) to do that for her. :)

Learned to sit up! And now gets mad when she isn't sitting up.

Started on solids! Eats bananas, apples, sweet potatoes, pears, carrots, rice cereal, and oatmeal cereal.

Still breastfeeding really well (even with Mom having horrible mastitis this last month, we got through it!)

Sleep....well, what's that? :)
She goes to bed between 8-9pm at night and usually wakes up twice during the night- around 2am & 6am, then sleeps until 8am. Some rare nights she only wakes up once at around 4am.
She takes two 1-2 hour naps during the day (around 10am and 3pm)

She has gorgeous, BIG, blue eyes and gets many comments on them from strangers.

She LOVES her feet- eating them, playing with them, rubbing them back and forth, etc.

She pretty much lives with a runny nose. Probably starting to get those teeth in.

Her hair continues to grow and grow, but not evenly. It's pretty crazy and has to be watered down several times a day due to it's desire to stand STRAIGHT up. She has enough to make a ponytail and pigtails on top of her head- just so cute!

She loves her brother and thinks he is hilarious. She laughs at him daily and loves to sit and watch him while he plays.

She has some stranger anxiety and has now cried for quite a few babysitters, but when Mom & Dad are within seeing distance she'll go to most anyone.

She loves to scratch things with her fingers and listen to the sound.

One of the most original things she does is this silliness with her hands like All. The. Time.

Oh, and she finally moved into her own room this month! (it took Mom awhile to let her go) AND we finally got her nursery finished and decorated! Pictures will be posted someday.

We can't imagine life without our sweet Sara- she's brought a sensitivity to our home and a beautiful spirit. We love her dearly!

My heart just about broke when I was at the doctor with her and was asked to schedule her 9 month appointment. Time just seems to be on overdrive lately and I really hate that the first 6 months of her life is over. It's my most favorite time- when they are so fresh and new...now we are moving onto the busy, mobile stage, but I know it will be so much fun! WORK, but fun!
