This last weekend I ate-
2 cheeseburgers, several home-made cinnamon covered donuts, a plate of oriental food, dutch oven, a pulled pork sandwich, a giant honey covered scone, 4 slushies, cotton candy, poporn, and so much more.
Where was I?
Well, the Box Elder County Fair of course!
We love, love love the Fair! (and the greasy, fatty food!)
We put on our cowboy boots and enjoyed every minute of it!
(No, we did not eat boogers too!)
Rob & I both loved the fair growing up and it's even funner now sharing our favorite traditions with Drake. Wednesday, we went to the Fair Parade to watch Katelyn cheer and Hannah dance. They both did great! We also had cousins riding horses in it. It was SO hot, but we managed. Drake didn't like it quite as much as I thought he would. He cried when the sirens were going off, but he did get some candy and loved the horses.
Thursday, we went to the fair for dinner (I finally got the Farm Bureau cheeseburger I have been craving for months!) and then to the rodeo with all of our family. I love that the fair brings all of our family together to one place- love that time with them!
Boy, did I have fun dressing Drake like a little cowboy (even though he's only a once-a-year-cowboy).
Seriously could there be anything cuter!?
Drake fell in horse poop. Or chocolate. :)
Friday, I met my mom and sisters for lunch and to look at all the fun booths.
The sword that provided hours of entertainment for Drake, yet danger for all those around him.
Friday night, we watched Katelyn cheer in her very first game! I was such a proud sister. I remember the feeling in the air on a Friday night when cheering at a game- it's the greatest and I'm happy she gets to experience it too!
I'm not exaggerating when I say Drake loved watching Katelyn! He would yell down at her and scream with her. He also loved playing with G&G Hunsaker at the top of the bleachers. He laughed and cheered and jumped and clapped and climbed.
After the game, we were foolish parents and took our kid back to the fair at 10:30pm to go on rides (this is all my families fault for putting the pressure on us!). Life is about living though right! (Plus it was so much cooler than midday) Drake loved it even with it being so late. This was his first time going on rides. We planned on having Hannah ride most of them with him, but found out she was too tall. I was worried he would be scared, but he amazed me and went on them all by himself. He was hilarious! Waving at us and smiling. He looked so big!
Saturday, after a temple trip to Logan with Rob in the morning, the guys went golfing and the girls went back out to the fair for more delicious lunch and booth shopping. We took naps and then headed back out for dinner, rodeo again, and rides with Drake.
The sky was gorgeous!
Cousin Flint is so awesome and took Drake on a horsey ride during the rodeo!
And would you guess that Drake's favorite part of the rodeo was the bulls?
Well of course, they are RAR-RARS!
He would point and say "Rar-rar!", then after they'd leave the arena, he'd say "Where Rar-rar?"
He did over and over again with each bull ride.
He pointed at the horsies and made neigh sounds and the flag and all the animals.
It was the highlight of the whole fair weekend watching him being so silly and enjoying something I love so much!
Look at that nervous expression! The bulls were pretty scary!

One last carousel ride with Mommy

It's no surprise that Drake slept in until 10:30am on Sunday morning, went back down for a nap from 12:30-2:30 and then passed out Sunday night as well. That's one BUSY weekend, but such a blast!
I love my home-town and I am so glad I was able to get work off for the whole weekend. It was such a great time with family!
And my 2 top favorite pictures from the weekend.....
ooooh....He is just so darn cute!
We love our little COWBOY!
Okay I'm hungry! Where's more fair food?

What fun! Makes me want to go to a fair! And your right Drake makes the cutest cowboy ever!
I miss the fair!!! It has been soooo long. I remember "working" at the Lion's Club making burgers and serving cokes and candy. As I recall, I was paid in cheeseburgers and snickers...
Great pictures! Maybe next year we will meet you there!
Oh man...so much to comment about. First of all, I love the nose picking picture! he'll love this someday. I LOVE the picture of you and your mom (you guys are just too dang gorgeous) and, I love the one of you enjoying your burger--I could relate because it had been years since I'd been to a fair and we made it over to the Burley fair last week where we devoured yummy hamburgers! TRULY a little piece of heaven. Oh, and I love Drake in his cowboy outfit, he's adorable and I'm sure he fit in with with the other 1/2 of the people there who are also once a year cowboys!:) I'm glad you had such a fun fair week, I miss going so much! Maybe one of these years the timing will be right! Love ya!
Your post made me so hungry! I, too, love those fair burgers...and I had one at the rodeo! I was proud of myself for not getting two or three while I had the chance! It sounds like a perfect fair weekend: family, food, and fun!
I didn't get to eat a Farm Bureau burger this year and I'm still sad about it! Those and the hamdingers are the two burgers I crave year-round.
I love the fair. So glad you guys are keeping up the tradition.
Also, what a great picture of Grandma and Grandpa!!!! I love it.
So fun! I love this time of year in Tremonton. The fair food sounds delicious. Drake makes an adorable cowboy! Also, thanks for the great advice!!
Absolutely LOVE all the cute pics! I definitely agree it's one of the funnest times of the year!
