I love that we have holidays to celebrate our PAPA'S! It's a perfect time to reflect on all they've done for us and recognize just how great they are!
I have a fond memory of the day I graduated from nursing school. We were sitting at one of the ceremonies and my dad passed me a small piece of paper that said "I am SO proud of you!" It made me cry.
My dad became a GRANDPA this year when we welcomed Drake into the family.
What a lucky kid to have such an amazing grandpa! They will be the best of friends someday!
Drake loves his grandpa!
#2. My father-in-law, Calvin
My father-in-law is truly one of the most amazing people I know. I don't know how I got so lucky (more like blessed) to have such wonderful in-laws. They are the most selfless and Christlike people I know. Calvin is a spiritual giant and a daily example to me. He has a fun, silly side as well. He's such a fun grandpa! The grandkids love to tickle his bald head. He loves to pinch our noses. He genuinely cares about our family and our well-being. He is so supportive of Robert and I and we are indebted to him forever for all he does for our little family.
While looking through my pictures, I realized that I have hardly any pictures of Calvin. I am making it a goal to take more pictures of him with Drake!
#3. My wonderful husband, Robert
Robert and I have celebrated Mother's Day and Father's Day every year even though we didn't have children. We still felt it was important to recognize each other (and we were parents to our dog right?).
This year feels so different though. With Drake here now, I realize what this holiday really is all about. Becoming a parent has made me realize all that mine and Robert's parents have done for us our entire lives. Being a parent makes you selfless. You have to be, you have no choice.
Selfless.
That's the perfect word to describe Robert. Everything he does is for our family. He works so hard in his job and in life to be the best husband and father he can be. I have developed such a different, greater love for Rob since we had Drake.
I love watching Robert with Drake when he doesn't know I'm looking. It's a tender mercy in my life each time I see Robert give Drake a kiss and Drake gives him the biggest grin from ear to ear. A grin that's only reserved for his daddy.
Drake is so lucky to have him. I know Drake will look up to him his entire life.
I love you so much honey! Thanks for making my life so GREAT!

Happy Father's Day, Robby.
What a wonderful post Lindsay! You have a gift of writing your feelings and emotions in a way that get's the ready all choked up and envious of your skills. It made me want to wright something about all the wonderful Dad's in my life but I feel I can't get the words I want to say out! Thanks for sharing!
What a tender post, Lindsay! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with all of us. We are so very blessed by the men in our lives, aren't we?
Such a sweet post, its crazy how life experience teaches you so much! I was almost getting a bit teary eyed because now that Stephen is a dad I can 100% connect! Families are AMAZING! Ok so Drake is definitely a cutie! They grow so so fast! Next step crawling right!? Its kinda fun our babies are right about at the same stage! Small world we are practically neighbors and we didnt even know it, lets get togetha! Oh and the last thing, my sister made my template, html stuff, so that is why it is wider. I think you can learn how to make your own templates on the internet, but seems hard and and confusing to me! I know not much help, but good luck!
What a sweet post! I love your dad as well! He has always been so fun and I will never forget when I was a little girl and he'd come out to Park Valley for a visit and he'd sit on the couch and I'd always grab grandma's brushes and combs and he'd let me comb his hair for hours. I love that you have such an amazing relationship with him. Love, love, love, the little story about the note he passed you on your graduation day. All dad's should be just like that! Thanks for sharing such an awesome post.
