Drake is loving and learning so much in Preschool right now. It's been such a great experience doing it with a few other moms in our ward. This week we had the coolest opportunity for a field trip!
I know Drake is excited for something when he wakes up in the morning and runs in to tell me about it. "Mom, today's our field trip to the fire station!"
(I felt almost excited as Drake did!)
A detective and police officer in our ward arranged for us to have a field trip at the police/fire station here in town. Jeff Nicks (the detective) led the tour and it really was so cool! I'm glad I packed the camera around and got some cute shots of the kids.
Touring the police station-
Fireman hats from Sergeant Nicks!
And...pretending to be in jail (which really scared them as you can tell by their faces. haha)
The kids loved talking about what policemen and firemen do and how they protect us and serve us.
After our tour of the station, Sergeant Nicks took us to the back to see the big FIRE TRUCK!
We got to see a REAL fireman dressed in his rescue clothes (woah) and then, the kids got to go inside!
Ya, they weren't excited about this at all. ;)
The kids and awesome Sergeant Nicks
Then, the coolest part of all (according to Drake)....they each got to spray the fire hose!
Then, they got to take turns sitting on the police motorcycle and see a police car with its lights on! That smile is so genuine- he was SO excited about all of this!
What a fun day for the kids and fun day for the moms watching them!
Outside the station at the park, Drake thought Sara looked so silly in his fireman hat.
