I feel HAPPY tonight.
My Christmas tree is up, my nativity is displayed, and Drake and I had fun decorating "his" little tree with all of our past Christmas ornaments.
It was sunny outside today, but my house smelled like Christmas (thanks Scentsy) and was filled with Christmas music and FINALLY it felt like the holidays are here in California.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving!
We are going to have a great day travelling to Rob's Aunt Hedy's home for Thanksgiving dinner- how thankful we are that she invited us.
Today I made my very first homemade pies....It was kinda hard.
But I did accomplish a goal of mine for a long time. :)
Tomorrow night we'll go to bed and then we'll wake up to my parents and sisters here.
They'll be exhausted from driving through the night, but we'll be hyper and ecstatic over them being here! What a fantastic surprise that we aren't going to be alone for the weekend!
Friday night, we will have a second Thanksgiving feast- one that I've been planning and working on all week. Cheeseballs in the fridge, pies made, groceries bought, and recipes found- lots of food is ready to be made on Friday morning! (including trying to make my mother-in-law's famous homemade rolls for Rob- I sure miss her.)
Saturday, we'll head into the city because some of my sisters have never been to San Francisco- I'm so looking forward to it.
Saturday night will bring more family! My cousin Nate and his wife Shelby are coming from Southern California to spend the rest of the weekend with us- can't wait!
I'm so excited for the next few days and just so thankful for all that I have.
(And I'm going to ignore the sudden sore throat, runny nose, and cough I have that is progressively getting worse....please don't let me be sick)
I do very much wish though that we could be in 3 places at once though- how we'd love to be with our Hunsaker family in St. George or with our Rose family in Promontory. We will be thinking of you and missing you!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Hope it's a great family day wherever you are!
